Artesian sits on the 65th floor of The Langham, Jakarta, in District 8 at SCBD. It is the first Artesian bar in Southeast Asia, and the room borrows from the Garden of Eden: an indoor lounge for about 60 people and an outdoor garden terrace for about 90, both looking out over the business district.
The current cocktail list, Slow Roots, is built with YUM Organic Farm and Kebun Mama Organic. It runs through four chapters (Soil, Sprout, Bloom and Harvest) and uses Indonesian produce such as purple sweet potato, cassava, moringa, temulawak and pandan. Bar snacks and Japanese fusion plates come from the hotel's Morimoto kitchen.
DJs play from Wednesday to Saturday. The dress code is smart casual, and booking ahead is sensible for a terrace table at sunset. It is closed on Sundays. Artesian is a good choice for a special-occasion round of serious cocktails with a high-floor view.
