Baba Nest – Sri Panwa

Baba Nest sits on the roof of Sri Panwa, the luxury villa resort on the tip of Cape Panwa in south-east Phuket, about 20 minutes from Phuket Town. The deck is a flat square of floor cushions and low tables surrounded on every side by a wrap-around infinity pool, so the water seems to run straight out to the sea. The view takes in a full 360 degrees: the islands of Phang Nga Bay and the Andaman Sea, and the green headland of Phuket's south-eastern peninsula.

It is a sunset bar first and foremost. The list covers high-end cocktails, fine wines and champagne, with a Mexican tapas menu to go with them. The setting has earned it a place on Condé Nast Traveler's list of the world's best rooftop bars and several CNN rankings of beach bars.

Baba Nest opens daily from 5pm to 8pm and advance reservation is required. Non-hotel guests pay a non-refundable minimum spend of THB 3,000 per person to confirm a booking, and the bar closes automatically if it rains, so keep an eye on the weather. Book by phone or email through Sri Panwa.
