HONG's Sky Bar – InterContinental Chiang Mai

Up on the 16th floor of InterContinental The Mae Ping, a Lanna-Chinese pavilion bar looks across the city to Doi Suthep at sunset.
HONG's Sky Bar – InterContinental Chiang Mai

HONG's Sky Bar sits at the top of InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping on Sridonchai Road, a short walk from the Night Bazaar. Opened in 2024 together with HONG's Chinese Restaurant across the 16th and 17th floors, it is the hotel's highest point, and the open terrace looks west over the low-rise city to the mountains around Doi Suthep.

The look draws on the Hong Miang Chinese community of old Lanna, with a pagoda-style canopy over the back bar, lanterns and patterned armchairs. Cocktails pair international spirits with northern Thai ingredients such as wild honey, lemongrass and Chiang Mai tea, alongside house infusions, and the kitchen downstairs sends up Chinese-style small plates. A DJ sets the soundtrack in the evening.

The bar opens at 4pm and closes at midnight. Tables can be reserved online through TableCheck, which is wise for sunset. It suits couples and visitors who want a polished hotel bar with one of the best city-and-mountain views in Chiang Mai.
