KABOOM sits on the 20th floor of Prince Tower on Peking Road, on the harbour side of Tsim Sha Tsui. It is a restaurant and lounge spread over two levels, with an indoor dining room under a slatted timber ceiling and an open-air terrace of wicker chairs and thatched parasols that looks out over Victoria Harbour to the Hong Kong Island skyline, a wide view of around 270 degrees.
The kitchen cooks South East Asian fusion food, with dishes such as Thai beef tartare, duck confit with curry, lobster pasta and the house burger, and the bar mixes bright, punchy signature cocktails alongside wine and beer. Shisha is also available on the terrace.
It is open from noon, until 1am from Sunday to Wednesday and until 2am from Thursday to Saturday, so it works as a long lunch spot as well as for sunset and late drinks. Dress is casual. It takes reservations, which are worth making for a terrace table at the weekend.
