Sphere Rooftop Bar – Chulia Mansion

Sphere is a space-themed cocktail bar on the open-air rooftop of Chulia Mansion, a boutique hotel on Lebuh Chulia in the heart of George Town's heritage zone. The roof is lit in ice-blue neon, with a giant moon backdrop for photos and a UFO-style canopy over the seating, and the view runs across the low shophouse roofs of the old town towards Komtar and the lights of the city.

The drinks lean towards signature cocktails with space-age names, served in unusual glassware, alongside beer, whisky, gin and other spirits by the glass or bottle, and shisha. In May 2026 a lightning strike damaged the bar's rooftop UFO; Sphere stayed open and marked the moment with a new menu, including a four-course craft cocktail journey that tells the bar's story so far.

Sphere opens daily from 6pm to 2am. Happy hour runs from 6pm to 8pm, with buy-two-get-one-free deals on beer and house spirits and a card-draw discount on cocktails. Dress is relaxed, and it is an easy add-on to an evening on Chulia Street and Love Lane.
