Rooftop Bars Asia

Sugar

EAST Hong Kong's 32nd-floor bar and terrace in Taikoo Shing, looking east along the harbour towards Lei Yue Mun.
Sugar

Sugar is the rooftop bar of EAST Hong Kong, the Swire-owned business hotel on Taikoo Shing Road at Island East. It takes up the 32nd floor, with an indoor lounge and an outdoor terrace whose view takes in the eastern stretch of Victoria Harbour, the Kowloon waterfront opposite and the hills behind. It is well away from the Central crowds, which makes it a calmer choice for an after-work drink.

The bar is known for bold original cocktails and runs themed menus, recently a planetary-inspired list called The SS Journey, with wine and beer also poured. The kitchen sends out Asian-inspired sharing plates. Time Out Hong Kong named it among its Best Bar recommendations in 2025.

It opens at 5.30pm every day and runs until 1am Monday to Thursday, 1.30am on Fridays, Saturdays and holiday eves, and 12.30am on Sundays. Tables can be booked through SevenRooms; walking in early in the week is usually fine.
