Summit Rooftop Bar

Summit is the rooftop bar of Pan Pacific Hanoi, on Level 20 of the hotel on Thanh Nien Road, the causeway that divides West Lake from Truc Bach. Few Hanoi rooftops have water on both sides, and the outdoor terrace makes the most of it, with the lakes below and the Red River and city skyline beyond.

The hotel describes it as a place for cocktails and canapés with a view at any hour. It opens at 2pm, so you can come for a seasonal afternoon tea as well as an evening drink, and there is a separate food menu of bar bites. Recent reviewers single out the mixology. Prices sit at the upper end for Hanoi.

The dress code is smart casual and the room holds about 90 guests. Sunset is the busiest time, when the breeze comes off the lake. It suits a quiet drink or a business meeting more than a party.
