The Gypsy is on the tenth floor of New Orient Hotel on Dong Da Street in central Hai Chau. Terraces wrap around a small pool and look across the city and down the Han River. The decor is relaxed boho: terracotta walls, rattan lanterns, low lounge seating and plenty of plants.
It was founded by restaurateur Zac and French chef Olivier, and the kitchen serves modern Mediterranean food with Asian touches. Many guests come only for drinks, though. The bar pours signature cocktails, wine, bubbles and spirits, and the poolside lounge is the place for a sunset glass. Reviewers say the mood gets lively later on.
Recent listings show it open Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm to 11pm and closed on Mondays. The dress code is smart casual. Bookings are taken online or by phone, and the venue also hosts private events.
