The Lawn is the open-air garden bar of Upper House, the Swire hotel above Pacific Place in Admiralty. It sits on a terrace on Level 6, a real lawn edged with tall hedges and flowerbeds, with low sofas and loungers set out on the grass and the glass towers of Admiralty and Central rising all around. It is less a sky-high view than a hidden green pocket in the middle of the city, and one of the calmest places on Hong Kong Island for a drink outdoors.
The hotel calls it a secret garden for sips and pop-ups: picnic-style cocktails, wine and cold beer, with garden bites to share, and seasonal events and pop-ups through the year. It is dog-friendly too, and well-behaved dogs are welcome on the lawn between 10am and 7pm.
Upper House does not publish fixed opening hours for The Lawn, and the terrace can close for private events, so call ahead on +852 2918 1838 before making a special trip. The way up is through the hotel, which is a short walk from Admiralty MTR station through Pacific Place.
