The Penthouse 8747

The Penthouse 8747 takes its name from its address on Paseo de Roxas, on the edge of Salcedo Village in the Makati business district. Up on the 22nd floor, it combines a dining room, a lounge and a covered outdoor terrace that looks across the office towers of Ayala Avenue and down towards Ayala Triangle Gardens.

The interior is unashamedly Gatsby-era: green velvet banquettes, gold Art Deco screens and a mirrored ceiling. The bar is built around signature cocktails, with a contemporary menu using local ingredients for those who stay to eat. Live music plays on some evenings, and cocktails are priced moderately for a Makati rooftop.

It opens from 4pm to 2am Tuesday to Sunday and is closed on Mondays. Smart casual dress is expected, and booking ahead is advised for weekends and sunset tables. A sister venue, Penthouse QC, operates in Quezon City.
